Circulation of knowledge

More than 20 exhibitions are hosted or organised each year across all of the University’s sites. These are systematically connected to collections, including cultural heritage, and are an opportunity to illustrate the synergies between artists and researchers, encourage cultural celebration or highlight contemporary societal challenges.

A few examples:

• Imaginaires au carré, which accompanied the conference "Formes géométriques en fiction" in partnership with the LaM.
• Mythologie cellulaire or the mysteries of biology revisited through mythology
• Images litigieuses or the Law of Photography, Images and Visual Artefacts
• Révélez l'humain derrière le patient, an exhibition of the work by participants in the writing competition (Phusis student association)

The libraries and Learning Center across the different campuses organise literary and academic events, analyses of TV series and feedback sessions following interdisciplinary artistic workshops with regular input from members of research & teaching staff, the University of Lille’s culture department and the Forum Ouvert des Œuvres de recherche.

A few examples:

• Prix du Roman étudiant France Culture Télérama: since 2013 the Humanities & Social Science BU has been hosting this annual event in which a panel of students reward a novel. That footage of the 2019 edition is available featuring Monica Sabolo, Sylvain Prudhomme and Emma Becker, the winner of last year’s award.
• Acoustique et biodiversité, an evening of arts and science with Jérôme Sueur (University of Lille) and Daniela Lorini, the artist behind Le chant des vers.
• Séries Manias, events hosted and organised as part of the festival
